Shame Shame…

Generally I start my day by visiting the websites of NDTV and CNN-IBN and this post is a reason of doing so. An army jawan has tried to misbehave with a girl and she, inturn beat him up in the public. This horrible incident has happened in the Haflong town in Assam.  When I watched the 7.5 minutes video in NDTV, I felt really bad for three reasons. ONE – This has been committed by an Army Jawan, who is supposed to be an epitome of bravery. TWO – The Army chief and his fellow army men were trying to protect him, rather than taking him to task. THREE – The people in the streets are just having fun watching this and no one truly tried to ask for justice. You can hear people shouting ‘Maro, Maro’, but no one is even ready to confront the army jawan except for the press guy (I think) who was recording the video. The girl’s bravery is to be appreciated, she even goes to the extent of boarding the army jeep along with the jawans, clearly knowing that they are trying to save him.

Just imagine, if people who are ‘suppposed to’ protect the country and its citizens are indulging in such acts, why wont seasoned criminals do this? Amidst of the rich cultural heritage of India, there are many such derogatory incidents happening. Let’s see what justice the girl gets…
