Trichy, my trichy!!!

Its hard to believe that, 6 months has passed since I came from Trichy (of course, I was there at home for about 20 days in December ). The place where I live now (Raleigh) is nice and comfortable. I have to admit that the standard of living is pretty high here. But, as my friend Sriram says, there’s a difference between happiness and comfort. This doesnt mean that, I am not happy now. But, the long term prospects of staying in the US doenst seem to be so luring for me. Cmon man, there are multi-storeys here, but very little temples. There are great restuarants here, but I miss the IYER KADAI, where I eat idly for Rs 2/-. There is almost everything you can have in life except your family and happiness. I don’t see any point in running behind money without peace of mind.

Hope God makes me stay contended and let me return to India in few years…

TRIBUTE TO SUJATHA…

The demise of ‘Sujatha’ (The great writer) was indeed a shocking news for a literary fan like me. Though this tribute comes a bit late, it is full of gratitude for his contribution towards literature and Cinema. Even while he was at Apollo, he had dictated the PASURAM to be published in KALKI. His thoughts reflected his personality… he was truly a visionary. In 1980 s itself, he had thought and wrote about Technological revolution. His novels, articles etc were and are a feast to any reader.

Fact known about ‘Sujatha’ : A great writer

Fact unknown about him : When he was working as an Engineer, he lead the team which developed the machine for vote counting. Only because of this machine, the burden of Vote counting has been reduced and the accuracy is also great.

Though you have departed from this world, your writings will remain eternally.

Me in Utopia !!!

It was about 9 in the morning. My mom had been asking me to go to a STORE for buying some things for home. Reluctantly, I started towards the STORE in my bike.

To my astonishment, there was no garbage in the road, the roads were sparkling clean with no bumps too! I saw people throwing wastes in Dust bins installed in each corner of the road. There is a tea shop in my locality which used to be thronged by crowds, who satiate(!) their hunger for SMOKING at that tea shop. Adding to my astonishment, there was nobody smoking in that shop. I stopped my bike and enquired the shop-keeper about this wierd contradiction. He told me that, all the tea-shops (and other shops too) have unanymously decided to ban all tobacco products.

Bewildered by this shocking news, I started my journey towards the STORE. At one place, though the traffic signal was not working, every one were waiting for their turns patiently !!! In another place, I noticed that a Police man (brisk and lean!) warned a person who tried to bribe him. While I passed a temple, I almost collapsed on seeing that there were no beggers in the front of the temple.

Due to all this excitement and shocks, I completely forgot about my errand for MOM. Suddenly, I received a thud on my shoulder… I opened my eyes to see my MOM standing  in my room, asking me to wake up, as it was 10 in the morning !!! THINK GUYS !
